Yulonda Renae Nelson, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on September 4, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 56. Born on January 7, 1969, in Ashdown, Arkansas, Yulonda was a treasured resident of the West Side, where her warmth and spirit touched the lives of many.

Yulonda had a zest for life that was infectious. She found joy in the simplest pleasures, whether it was appreciating the vibrancy of her favorite color, purple, relishing delicious soul food, or immersing herself in the rhythms of R & B music. She sought out fun and thrill, particularly during her beloved outings to the casino, where the slot machines never failed to bring a sparkle to her eye.

Family was the cornerstone of Yulonda's existence. She cherished moments spent playing games and creating intricate puzzles with her loved ones—a true testament to her belief in the power of togetherness. Her proudest accomplishment was, without a doubt, her family. Yulonda was a loving daughter to her mother, Loyce Ann Murphy, and her father, George Nelson. She was also a devoted sister to Shereka Nelson, Gail Nelson, and Maurice Martin. As an aunt to seven nieces and seven nephews, she showered them with affection and inspired them through her own example of love and resilience.

Her educational journey began at Central High School, where her lively spirit and delightful character began to emerge. Friends and family will remember Yulonda not just for her unique personality but for the way she made everyone feel special, valued, and loved.
