Glendale

William “Willie” Galindo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, in Glendale, Arizona, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 3, 1942, in Peoria, Arizona, Willie lived a life full of purpose and joy, marking over 50 years as an over-the-road truck driver. His vast journey on the highways mirrored his ability to navigate life with humor and grace.

Willie was not only dedicated to his career but was also known for his extraordinary skills as a mechanic. If something was broken, Willie could fix it—and usually, while doing so, he would crack a joke that would leave everyone around him in fits of laughter. His sense of humor was infectious; he had the remarkable ability to brighten any room he entered, making people laugh until their bellies hurt. Willie loved tinkering and fixing things, always delighted to take on a challenge, whether it be at home or out on the road.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Susana, whose partnership and love were the cornerstones of his life. Willie was the proud father of five children: Will, Eddie, Patty, Mary Ellen, and Steve. The pride he felt in his family was only matched by the joy his twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren brought to his life. They were his pride and joy, lighting up his days and ensuring there was never a lack of laughter and love around him.

Friends and family are invited to join in remembering Willie at the Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in Goodyear, Arizona. A viewing will take place on December 16, 2024, with two opportunities to pay respects: from 8:45 AM to 9:15 AM and then from 9:15 AM to 10:00 AM. Willie will be laid to rest on December 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM in Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, where he will continue to watch over his beloved family.

Willie's legacy is not just in the repairs he completed or the miles he drove, but in the laughter and love he instilled in those who surrounded him. As they gather to celebrate his life, his family and friends will undoubtedly remember the gentle spirit, humor, and warm presence that Willie brought into their lives, cherishing the memories they hold dear. He may have departed from this world, but his light, laughter, and love will remain in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
