Wanda Edmund Eckrote, a devoted caregiver and cherished member of her community, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 27, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on August 19, 1963, in Jackson, Mississippi, where her roots began to shape the vibrant tapestry of her life.

Wanda was known for her deep compassion and unwavering dedication to those she cared for, touching countless lives through her profession. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her work; she was a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a beloved partner to her significant other, James Taylor. The warmth of her character lit up the lives of her family, including her son, Robert Lee Edmund, and daughter, Lula Mae White. Wanda's legacy will continue through her grandchildren—Jaylynn, Andrew, Aliya, Robert, and Faith—each one reflecting a piece of her heart.

Wanda found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for shopping brought her excitement as she embraced the thrill of seeing new things. She relished in indulging her palate with delectable Mexican cuisine and delighted in the soulful grooves of old school rhythm and blues music. Her passion for these joys revealed a spirited and vibrant personality that endeared her to all who knew her.

Wanda leaves behind a loving family, including her sisters Denise, Janine, and Felicia Edmund. Furthermore, she is survived by ten nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Wanda is preceded in death by her loving mother, Ruth Ann Edmund.

A memorial service to honor Wanda's remarkable life will be held at Avenidas Funeral Chapel in Avondale, Arizona, on August 16, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM and concluding at 1:00 PM. This gathering stands as a testament to a life well-lived—to a woman whose laughter and love will echo in the hearts of many for years to come. Her spirit, though departed, will forever remain a guiding light in the lives she touched.
