Takeko Kato Morales, a radiant soul whose journey began in Japan on October 14, 1934, departed this world on March 10, 2025, in the warmth of her home in Phoenix, Arizona. Surrounded by the love and embrace of her family, her final moments were a testament to the profound bonds she nurtured throughout her life.
Takeko was educated in Japan, where she cultivated not only her knowledge but also an indomitable spirit that would later shape her life in America. Her marriage to Adam Roy Morales Sr. on June 6, 1963, marked a milestone that filled her life with joy and purpose. Together, they created a loving family, a legacy that includes their beloved children: Adam Morales (Lisa), Alphonse Morales, and Thomas Morales, along with their cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found immense pride in her role as a matriarch, and her family blossomed with her nurturing care.
Her vibrant personality was beautifully reflected in her interests and hobbies. She had a penchant for Mariachi music, which resonated with her enthusiasm for life, and she enjoyed the simple pleasure of indulging in a "Happy Meal" from McDonald's. Her favorite color, yellow, symbolized the brightness she brought into the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Takeko also relished her outings to the casino, where the thrill of chance mirrored her zest for life.
Takeko's departure is marked not only by sorrow but also by grateful remembrance of the life she lived—a life enriched by the love of her husband, Adam Morales Sr., who has preceded her in death, along with their son, John Morales, and her esteemed parents, Takeshi and Iki Kato, and her brother, Takanga Kato. Though they are no longer with us, their spirits continue to weave through the fabric of her family’s life.
In honor of her memory, an inurnment service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, located at 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024, on April 11, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to gather as they pay tribute to a woman whose legacy will forever shine brightly.
Takeko Kato Morales leaves behind not only a family that adores her but a multitude of memories—each one a cherished moment that reflects the love she bestowed upon her children and grandchildren. As we remember Takeko, let us carry forward her spirit of love, laughter, and an indelible zest for life.
