It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sophia Lynn Conde, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on January 18, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona. Born on November 23, 1966, in Fresno, California, Sophia brought warmth, laughter, and love to all who knew her.
Sophia was a devoted mother to her sons, Robert Parra Jr. and Renee Parra, and her cherished daughter, Samantha Parra. She found immense joy in her six grandchildren—Jordan, Robert, Nadia, Evelyn, and Ezekiel—and held dear her great-grandchild, who brought an extra sparkle to her life. Each of these precious relationships deepened her understanding of love, family, and the simple joys that life has to offer.
As a sister, Sophia shared bonds with Sandra Cordova (Rudy), Susan Morales, Sally Conde (Jose), and her brother Edward Conde Jr. (Mary). Her siblings were not just family; they were lifelong friends. The laughter they shared and the memories they've created together will forever echo in the hearts of those she left behind.
Sophia's spirit was vibrant and full of enthusiasm for life. She had a true passion for cooking, a talent she embraced wholeheartedly as she lovingly prepared meals for her family. The kitchen became a sacred space where love was infused into every dish, enhancing the warmth of family gatherings. Cooking for her loved ones was one of her proudest accomplishments, but her greatest achievement was, without a doubt, the love she cultivated in her family.
Her personality shone brightly in many ways, not the least of which was her unwavering support for her favorite football team, the Minnesota Vikings. Sophia's love for the color purple also mirrored her vibrant spirit—a color that symbolized the depth of her heart and the joy she brought into others' lives.
Sophia was predeceased by her father, Edward M. Conde, and her mother, Janie Tober Conde. She also mourned the loss of her sisters Sharon Conde and Sarah Cabeza, with whom she held countless cherished memories that she carried with her throughout her life.
As we remember Sophia, we draw comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on through the family and friends she cherished. A memorial service to honor her life will be held on February 21, 2025, at Avenidas Funeral Chapel in Avondale, AZ, starting at 11:00 AM.
The entire family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to car washes and donations in her honor; your generosity is deeply appreciated as we navigate this profound loss. Sophia’s loving spirit and indomitable warmth will be missed, but she will forever remain alive in our hearts.
