Richard Louis Abramo, a man whose life was a tapestry woven with threads of dedication, resilience, and warmth, passed away peacefully at his home in Buckeye, Arizona on September 10, 2025. Born on August 19, 1947, in the vibrant city of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Richard embodied the American spirit – a true patriot, a devoted husband, and a beloved family member.
A proud United States Navy Veteran, Richard served as an Aviation Electricians Mate Second Class Petty Officer, gaining honorable discharge on September 27, 1971. His years of service were marked by a commitment to excellence and camaraderie that would leave an indelible mark on all who served alongside him. The discipline learned in the Navy translated easily into his civilian life, where he embraced the role of a self-employed retailer. He approached this career with the same vigor and enthusiastic spirit, building lasting connections in the community and leaving a profound impact on those he interacted with.
An alumnus of high school with some college experience, Richard cherished knowledge and sought to learn continuously throughout his life. He possessed a curious mind and an innate ability to connect with others, qualities that endeared him to countless friends and family members.
Richard's heart belonged to his wife, Norma Abramo. Together, they forged a partnership rooted in love, laughter, and mutual respect, navigating life's joys and challenges hand in hand. The bond they shared was a testament to their unwavering devotion, an inspiration for those fortunate enough to witness their love unfold.
He is also survived by his cherished sisters, Connie Louise Spataro and Patti Ann Selleck, and his beloved Raychel Mandy Abramo. The joy he found in family gatherings and the warmth of nurture enveloped him, as he reveled in the loyalty and affection of numerous nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Richard.
Richard leaves behind a legacy of kindness, steadfastness, and love. He was predeceased by his father, Louis Abramo, and his mother, Concetta Venezia Abramo, whose guidance and values helped shape the man he became. A gentle soul, Richard touched many lives, and his laughter will echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
In this time of sorrow, we remember Richard not with tears alone but with heartfelt gratitude for the memories created, the lessons imparted, and the love shared. Let us honor his journey by continuing to embody the compassion and strength he so generously bestowed upon us.
