Ramona Trinidad Sinohui of Tolleson, Arizona, was called to eternity on September 16, 2024, surrounded by her family after a two year battle of cancer.
"Mona" as lovingly referred to by her family and friends, was born on February 28th, 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended Cartwright Elementary School and then Tolleson Union High School. The saying goes that everyone in Tolleson knows each other, and that was especially true for Mona. It was apparent Mona had a vibrant personality, a zeal for life, and a contagious laughter. Everyone knew Mona, and wanted to be part of her life; she made people feel special.
Mona met the love of her life, Alfonso Sinohui, by mutual friends during a wedding and they remained inseparable. They were married at the Historic Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Phoenix in 1969. They welcomed their daughter, Kimberly Ann in 1974, and then son, James Alfonso in 1976. Mona had a servant's heart, so much that she very quickly turned her efforts towards social work and assisting others in a variety of Human Resources capacities. Mona was known as the life of the party; she was easy to talk to and enjoyed being with her family and friends. Her love for music and dancing, in particular Tejano music, was her favorite. Mona loved to cook and experience new things and places. Mona embraced life and made it a point to actively participate in the lives of her family. Her children and grandchildren knew they could count on their beloved matriarch for anything; she was the glue that held them all together.
Mona was not afraid, even after her cancer diagnosis. She embraced the amazing life she was given, and thanked her family and friends every chance she could for accompanying her on her journey. She also reminded them that without her, parties might not be as fun, so it was their job to keep the vibrancy for life going.
Mona is survived by the love of her life Alfonso; daughter Kimberly and son, James (Milinda.). She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
