His prowess on the mound continued at Arizona State University, where he not only pitched but made his mark by participating in the College Baseball World Series in 1976. His love for sport extended beyond baseball, as he was also an exceptional golfer, showcasing his diverse athletic abilities.
Patrick's personality was characterized by his competitiveness, his dedication as a team player, and his deep understanding of how to relax and enjoy life. He was someone who knew the importance of balance, bringing joy and enthusiasm into every endeavor.
He is survived by his brother Dennis, sisters Laura and Susan, and his son Jessie Dean, who carry forth his legacy. In addition, Patrick was a cherished grandfather to Kohen and Emelin, and a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews, Robin, Cory, and John.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Mary Ann Gillie, who laid the foundation for the values he carried throughout his life.
