1957 - 2024 Kathleen Ragan, 67, of Goodyear, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly from pancreatic cancer on November 3, 2024, at Abrazo West Campus, surrounded by her family and close friends.Kathy was born on January 19, 1957, in Rawlins, Wyoming, to Dennis and Marillyn (Small) Ragan. The family lived in Saratoga, Wyoming, until 1961 when they moved to Glenrock. Kathy was close to her older brother, Mike, with whom she shared a deep, lifelong bond. Together, they offered each other strength and support throughout their lives. Kathy graduated from Glenrock High School in 1975, where she was involved in athletics, drama, music, and student leadership, serving as class president. She earned an academic scholarship to the University of Wyoming.Kathy attended the University of Wyoming, following in the footsteps of her mother and two uncles by earning a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1980. While at UW, she was an active member of the Tri Delta Sorority and remained an engaged alumna after graduation. Kathy was also a devoted member of Saint Matthew's Episcopal Cathedral in Laramie.In 1982, Kathy moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked for Senator Alan Simpson as an administrative assistant. She spent two years in the fast-paced political environment of the capital but cherished her role interacting with Wyoming citizens.In 1998, Kathy and her first husband, Jeff, adopted a beautiful baby girl from China named Zoe.Zoe was undoubtedly the light of Kathy's life. Kathy treasured every moment spent with Zoë, imparting wisdom and love that Zoe will carry forward in her own journey.After some life changes, Kathy reconnected with Ron Millick on social media in 2015, rekindling a romance that began in college. They were married in 2016 in Jackson Hole. Kathy was proud to welcome Ron's sons, John and Ben, their wives Ciera and Skylar, and granddaughter, Mila, born in 2024, into her extended family.Kathy's career took her many different places. From 1984 to 2000, she served as an Associate Director of Admissions at UW; she was a pharmacist at Hannaford in Rumford, Maine, from 2000 to 2003; and she worked as a pharmacy manager at Kmart in Laramie from 2003 to 2018.As she neared retirement, Kathy worked part-time at Pole Mountain Pharmacy and the UW Student Health Pharmacy. In 2019, Kathy retired and relocated with Ron to Arizona, seeking warmer weather and escaping the Wyoming snow.In Goodyear, Kathy quickly formed lifelong friendships through Pilates and the Canta Mia community. Kathy was the social committee of her neighborhood and gained a newfound love for card making. Kathy and Ron made the most of their retirement, embarking on numerous European adventures and cross-country road trips, visiting family and friends along the way. As a devoted husband, Ron, stood by her side through life's many adventures and challenges, always offering his support and love. Together, they shared countless memories filled with laughter, joy, and companionship. Kathy's legacy is one of warmth, love, and resilience. She touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving an enduring impact on family, friends, and colleagues alike. Kathy's life was defined by her grace, her dedication to her loved ones, and her ability to face life's challenges with strength and dignity. Kathy is survived by her husband, Ron; her daughter, Zoe; and her brother, Mike, and his wife, Cynthia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Small/Ragan Family Scholarship at the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy.
