With a heavy yet celebratory heart, we honor the vibrant spirit of Jerome Lavon Tandy II, who left us far too soon on April 6, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born in Wichita, Kansas, on February 24, 2000, Jerome embodied the youthful zest for life that many aspired to mirror. He graduated from Maya High School in 2018, marking his journey with not only academic achievement but also notable athletic accomplishments—securing the titles of Most Improved Player in his freshman year and Most Valuable Player (MVP) during his sophomore year.

Jerome's career as a construction worker showcased his tenacity and practical talents, as he enjoyed tinkering with all things mechanical. He relished the opportunity to don his handyman hat, transforming simple tasks into creative solutions. His hands were as capable as his mind, and he approached each project with a focus that mirrored his approach to life.

A reflective soul, Jerome was always in touch with his emotions, preferring deep conversations over small talk. His philosophical debates with friends and family were legendary; he had a knack for exploring life’s complexities that made every interaction meaningful. He thrived in the company of his loved ones, including his cherished child, Sun-Ja' Launi, and his devoted siblings: Justice Lee Tandy, Journey Asher Tandy, Diandre Moore Young Jr., plus four sisters and an additional brother. Supported by a loving family, including his Father, Jerome Lavone Tandy Sr., Mother Alexandria Butler, Stepmother Ash' Le Callan, Grandparents Lajune Fritts and Albert Fritts of Leander, Texas, grandparents Tom and Vickie Tandy and his 3 Aunties. The bonds he forged were undoubtedly strong and enduring.

Music was a significant thread in Jerome's life, particularly his love for rap. The rhythm fueled his days, and the passion he brought to his favorite tunes was infectious. He also held a special place in his heart for grandma’s pizza—nothing could quite compare to the warmth of those family meals shared together, laughing and sharing stories. His favorite color, red, seemed to reflect the vibrancy he brought to everyone around him.

Though his life was another reminder of the fleeting moments we hold dear, Jerome's presence was nothing short of a gift. His commitment to spending quality time with family and peers showed a maturity beyond his years. Jerome Tandy II’s legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him; a quiet yet powerful force whose deep conversations will linger long after his departure.

As we remember Jerome, we celebrate his life—a tapestry woven with laughter, creativity, love, and tenacity. Though he may have departed this world, the impact of his spirit will forever echo through the hearts of those he touched.
