James Joseph Decker

James (Jim) Decker (1963–2023)

Jim Decker, 60, of Goodyear, AZ, passed away on November 13.

He was born in 1963 to George and Louise Decker. Shortly after graduating high school, Jim joined the Navy. After many years of service he moved on to working at Intel, before finally settling in at Arizona Public Service, Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station as a Reactor Operator at Unit 1.

Jim will always be remembered for his generosity and the way that he always wanted to try something new. He enjoyed traveling and exploring new places with the people he loved. Jim loved fun and watching his grandchildren grow. We couldn’t have asked for a better parent, husband, and brother, and will miss Jim every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

Jim was preceded in death by his first wife Judy, and his parents George and Louise. He is survived by his current wife, Elena Hansford, her daughter and his step-daughter Masha Page; his daughters Ashley Maiville and Stephanie Decker; and his brothers and sister, Kevin, Shawn, and Sharon Decker.

Service is Saturday, Dec. 2023, 3:00 pm, at Avenidas Funeral Chapel at 522 E Western Ave, Avondale, AZ 85323.
