Herminia’s journey on this earth came to a peaceful close on February 3, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by her loving family.
Herminia gave herself wholeheartedly to the roles of wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her devotion to her children—Elsa Ochoa and Paul Cavazos Jr.—was unparalleled. She not only nurtured them with care but instilled in them values of kindness, strength, and resilience that will carry through generations. As a grandmother to five and great-grandmother to thirteen, Herminia found endless joy in her grandchildren’s lives, celebrating their achievements and supporting them during challenging times. Her spirit will forever live on in their hearts.
Beyond her family, Herminia was known for her deep faith and commitment to her community. She loved attending church services at St. Williams Catholic Church in Cashion Park, Arizona, where she engaged with other parishioners, bringing warmth and a welcoming smile to all. Her dedication to her faith reflected the love she had for her family and how she embraced every moment with grace and gratitude.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul Cavazos; her devoted children, Elsa Ochoa and Paul Cavazos Jr.; her dear sister, Irma Torres, and another sister, Catalina Sanchez; her brothers, Samual and Juan Acosta; and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Herminia’s legacy of love will continue to flourish through those she leaves behind, reminding them of the importance of family bonds and the strength found in unity.
A visitation to honor Herminia’s life will be held on February 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Avenidas Funeral Chapel located at 522 E Western Ave, Avondale, AZ, 85323. Friends and family are invited to come together in celebration of her beautiful spirit and the indelible impact she made on all who knew her.
