Hermen v. Lopez, a cherished son of Phoenix, Arizona, born on the sun-kissed day of July 29, 1942, embarked on his eternal journey on September 18, 2025, in Tolleson, Arizona. A proud Christian and devout practitioner of Catholicism, he lived his life as a reflection of his faith, spreading warmth and kindness wherever he roamed.

In his fruitful years, Hermen carved a path as an admirable craftsman in roofing and home building, leaving behind structures that surely stand as testimonies to his dedication and skill. He was not just a builder of homes, but a builder of dreams, creating spaces where memories would unfold for countless families. His devotion extended far beyond the physical aspects of his work; it was interwoven into the very fabric of his community, showcasing the spirit and tenacity he carried throughout his life.

Grounded in the values instilled during his education at Tolleson Union High School, Hermen carried the strength of his upbringing all the way into his service as a United States Army Veteran, making a mark during the Vietnam War. His service was a badge of honor, solidifying his commitment not only to his country but to the ideals of bravery and compassion that defined him as a man. A proud member of ROBERT DIAZ LOPEZ VFW POST - 6310 in Tolleson, Hermen found camaraderie and purpose among those who shared the echoes of sacrifice and valor.

Family was Hermen's ultimate treasure. He is survived by his devoted children: Anthony Lopez, Adrian Lopez, and Tawnya Lopez, who were a source of immense pride and joy throughout his life. The laughter of grandchildren—Desiree, Hannah, Savanah, Samantha, Thomas, Roxie, Jeremiah, and Autumn—filled his heart with love, offering a glimpse into the legacy he cherished deeply.

He is also remembered by his beloved siblings: Jose Lopez (Frances), Raymond Lopez, Gavina Alaya, John Lopez, and Mary Melendez. Together, they formed an unbreakable bond, sharing memories that will echo through the halls of time. However, the window of life has not been without heartache for Hermen; he mourns the loss of three children, one brother, his former wife, and eight grandchildren, who now reside beyond the veil.

Hermen’s life compilation—filled with love, resilience, and dedication—is a poignant tapestry that many will remember fondly. Friends, family, and those touched by his soul are invited to celebrate his life on October 10, 2025. A Viewing will be held at Avenidas Funeral Chapel located in Avondale, Arizona, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, culminating in a Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery at noon.

As we mourn the departure of Hermen v. Lopez, we also celebrate a life vibrant with purpose, a heart generous with love, and a spirit that continues to inspire in the hearts of those he held dear. He may have journeyed into eternity, but his legacy, carved into the voices of his children and the laughter of his grandchildren, will forever resonate as a testament to a life well-lived.
