Guillermina Quijada

Guillermina Quijada, a beloved matriarch, was born on February 10th, 1938, in San Rafael, Sonora, Mexico. Tragically, she passed away peacefully from natural causes on May 28th, 2025, in Glendale, Arizona. She leaves behind an enduring legacy filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

Guillermina was a proud mother to seven children, Alicia, Arturo, Alfredo, Juan, Rafael, Eduardo and Patricia, who carried her spirit and values into their own lives. She relished the role of grandmother, and her heart expanded to embrace her many grandchildren: Sigfredo, Jose, Magda, Claudia, Zuilma, Edgar, Andres, Arturo Jr., Jose, Alfredo Jr., Omar, Vianey, Dagoberto, Victor, Rocio, Liliana, Juan Jr., Eduardo Jr., Alexander, Alexis, Cesar Jr., and Bianca. To them, she was not just a grandmother but also a source of wisdom and unconditional love. Her family was her pride, and each moment spent with them was a treasure she cherished deeply.

Guillermina was not alone in her journey through life; she cherished the love and support of her siblings—brothers and sisters Lupe, Miguel, Pancho, Enrique, and Jorge. They shared laughter, culture, and the ties that bind families together in both joyous and challenging times. Her roots in family extended to her parents, Frances Quijada and Isidro Gamez, who instilled in her values that would be passed down through generations.

As family and friends gather to celebrate her remarkable life, they will share stories that reveal the depth of her compassion and selflessness. Guillermina lived with an inspiring strength that touched everyone lucky enough to cross her path and her spirit will continue to resonate through the hearts of those who loved her.

Visitation will take place on June 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, located at 522 E Western Ave, Avondale, AZ 85323. The burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery at 9925 West Thomas Road, Avondale, AZ 85392, beginning at 1:00 PM.

Though Guillermina has departed this earthly realm, her memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. A legacy of love, dedication, and warmth will be carried forward by her children, grandchildren, and the many lives she touched throughout her life. In these difficult times, her family takes solace in the love they shared and the lasting impact she made as their guiding star.
