Gloria graduated from Miami High School in 1961. Gloria's first marriage was to Manuel Licano, and they had their daughter, Liza Licano, in 1964.
Gloria enjoyed her career, working for Inspiration Copper Company as a Key Punch Operator. Gloria and Liza moved from Miami to Phoenix in 1979. Gloria worked for First Interstate in the Note department and her co-worker, Joe Martinez, introduced her to his brother, Alfred Martinez. Gloria and Alfred got married on February 12, 1983, and recently celebrated their 42-year anniversary together in eternity. Gloria continued her career working for the State of Arizona beginning with the State Mine Inspectors office and for the State Compensation fund as a Payroll Specialist.
Gloria loves the Lord, is a born-again Christian believer, attended Gospel Echoes Bible Church with her family and spent time in fellowship at a weekly Bible Study group. Gloria enjoyed the simplicity of life, loved her home, spending time outside on her patio, drinking coffee, reading and especially loved the rain. Gloria loved spending time with her family, going shopping with her daughter and especially loved to go out to eat. Her favorite meal was breakfast. Gloria was a great cook, made the best red chili, beans, rice, potato salad, menudo, albondigas soup, Caldo de Res, tortillas, tacos and homemade pumpkin bread, among many other special foods.
