Gloria Jean (Johnson) Herrington

Gloria, 69, of Goodyear, Arizona passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Banner Estrella Hospital, with family close by and wrapped in her Elvis Presley blanket. She was born October 28,1955 in San Francisco, CA to Howard and Mary (Taylor) Johnson.

Gloria attended Trevor Browne High School. She married John Manley Herrington on January 16, 1973 in Phoenix, AZ. She retired from Starlight Elementary School as a “special needs teacher aide.”

Gloria embraced life by enjoying the little things. She loved hanging out with family and friends, hitting the casino, catching her favorite TV shows like Little House on the Prairie and Walker, Texas Ranger, and, of course, jamming to her ultimate favorite, Elvis Presley. The family is sure she's jamming out to Jailhouse Rock.

Gloria is survived by her husband John Herrington of 52 years, her sons John (Holly) Herrington, Jeff (Jennifer) Herrington, brother Carl (Jenny) Johnson, grandchildren Hailey, Alexis, Austin and Terrin Herrington. Gloria is preceded in death by her mother Mary Zelma Taylor, father Howard Ray Johnson, stepfather James Sears, brothers Ray Johnson, Kenny Johnson and sisters June Waltermire and Joyce Robertson.

A celebration of Gloria’s life will take place on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Talisman Hall 10433 Talisman Rd Sun City, AZ Open House from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
