Danny Lee Alderman, born on June 23, 1947 in Altus, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by his family. He lived a vibrant life that was marked by dedication, service, and commitment both to his country and to those he loved.

Danny's professional journey spanned an impressive 30 years at the Carl T. Hayden Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, where he made lasting contributions to his community. An associate degree holder from Phoenix College, Danny also proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army and the Arizona Army National Guard, Infantry. His military service from August 2, 1966 to 1972 included a tour in Vietnam, during which he earned numerous commendations, including the Good Conduct Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, and the Army Occupation Medal (Berlin), among others. Danny's commitment to helping others extended beyond his military service; he was passionate about assisting veterans in obtaining their hard-earned benefits.

Danny had a joyful spirit and was known for his love of life. In his youth, he enjoyed dancing at the Riverside ballroom in Phoenix, and his passions included cooking, fishing, and enjoying comedy movies along with the soulful sounds of Motown music. His favorite color was blue, which resonated with his vibrant personality. A proud Catholic, Danny valued his faith and the lessons it imparted throughout his life.

He is remembered fondly for his deep affection for his family. Danny shared a special bond with his brothers Lerry (80 years old) and John (65 years old). He was a devoted father to his children, Elizabeth Bailey and Denise Wray, and a cherished grandfather to Raymond, Brandi, Briana and Victoria. Danny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maryann Martinez Alderman, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage before her passing on July 11, 2024. Together, they created a legacy of love and unity.

Danny's life will be celebrated on December 18, 2025, beginning with a memorial service at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, located at 522 E Western Ave, Avondale, AZ, starting at 11:00 AM and concluding at 1:00 PM. Following the service, inurnment will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, located at 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ, beginning at 2:00 PM and concluding at 3:00 PM.
