Billy "Kyle" McCardie, age 56, loving dad of two daughters, Kelly McCardie and Lily McCardie,
and devoted husband to wife, Yissel McCardie, passed away in the early afternoon of October 2, 2025, after a short battle with an aggressive pancreatic cancer that was diagnosed in September 2025. Kyle was born on October 18, 1968, in Phoenix, AZ to his parents, Billy McCardie and Charlotte Heppel. He had one sibling, his sister, Leah Cartwright.
Kyle spent his elementary school years growing up in Camp Verde, AZ. There he met two of his closest friends, Ryan Holm and Tammy West. One of his favorite childhood memories was his
trip with Ryan to North Dakota. Tammy was one of his dearest friends and as that friendship continued to grow into adulthood, she became a cherished family member. His Nana and Papa McGregor were very special to him They played a big role in Kyle's life and forever held a special place in his heart. Kyle's proudest moments as a child were winning the jazz band competition and being told he was good enough to play pro baseball.
His family moved to California in his teen years. He met his wife, Yissel in September 1985 when they went to the same high school together in Santee, CA. Kyle graduated from Poway High School, went to Phoenix Institute of Technology, and took many college classes to learn sign language. Kyle and Yissel started dating in February 1990 and were married in December 1992. They started a family and had two beautiful daughters as well as many adorable fur children. Kyle always chose his girls no matter what.
Kyle had many interests. He loved cars. His most prize purchases were his 1988 Nissan Desert Runner truck and his 2002 Ford Mustang GT. Going to the Barrett Jackson show here in Phoenix was a highlight for him. He loved learning about the stock market and teaching others what he learned about that. The Dallas Cowboys were his favorite football team. Kyle loved to eat. His favorite food was shrimp. The Red Lobster all you can eat shrimp was a favorite spot on his birthdays. Glam rock and country music were two of his favorite genres. In his free time, Kyle loved to camp, play video games and watch movies and TV shows. Sci Fi, Marvel, and Disney were at the top of his list. He was a superfan of going to Disneyland where his inner kid came out. Kyle was funny even to the end making us laugh on his last day on this earth. His jokes
about Ghost Whisperer and Better Off Dead were hilarious that day. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends that loved him so much.
Kyle is survived by his wife, Yissel McCardie; daughter, Kelly McCardie; daughter, Lily McCardie and her husband Jeremiah Sourp; dad, Bill McCardie; mom, Charlotte Heppel; sister, Leah Cartwright; and his cat he shared with Yissel, Ladybug, who will miss his pets.
