He completed a tour in Vietnam with the rank of Lance Corporal, specializing as a Freight Transport Specialist (MOS 3121). His commendable service and exemplary conduct earned him several accolades, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Rifle Marksmanship Badge, culminating in an honorable discharge.
Allen's professional journey as a truck driver was marked by his commitment and reliability, traits that he carried into every task he undertook. He was well-known for his Marine personality—tenacious, disciplined, and always ready to help those in need.
Allen's passing leaves behind his beloved wife, Sheryl Adkins, with whom he shared many wonderful years. He departed this world surrounded by his family, emphasizing the importance of family bonds that he held dear throughout his life.
